"Family Values," my novella about a retired English professor coming to grips with his children's marriages, and his own. Posts marked with asterisks contain adult material.
But the characters seemed so real that it makes me wonder what is next to happen in their lives. Great writing because I felt as if I was reading a blog about real people. Will there be an update on them in the future?
T&I: Thanks. I don't think so. Everyone who has read it feels the ending was a bit abrupt, but I felt I was leaving everyone in a pretty good place and had nothing more to say, for now anyway. Everything introduced in the beginning has been developed, and brought back, though perhaps in a new key. No new material was used, really (Mitchell is just a different Jeff). It's like a sonata. And I don't have another movement at the moment.
Doug: (Bows.) Thanks a lot to you and Tom for reading all the way to the end.
Like I commented back in the December post, the visual of you telling the story and the dawgs sitting around making wisecracks and asking for clarification really added an extra dimension.
hmmm. guess i have some catching up to do! (nothing like arriving at the LAST POSSIBLE MOMENT!) G and Kyahgirl both sing your praises... and i apologize for not coming over sooner. now, if you'll excuse me, i have some reading to do! xo
Thanks, Actonbell and TLP, but your efforts were futile, as I don't come here often. (Though I hope to take it up again once "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" is more underway, or possibly done.)
You can read the novella from the beginning just by clicking on links, OE, if you haven't done so already. If not, I hope to get something done on my next opus, "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," this summer. Sorry if I'm late answering this. I don't come here much.

Was that really the end?
Hi, would you like to submit something to Greenbeard, our zine?
If so, please write to greenbeards@gmail.com
Oooh. I think I've come to this a bit late.
T. S. D.: Yes. I have actually done something on "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," but not enough.
M. Thank you, I'm honored. I'm not sure I have anything, though, unless you want part of this or a vignette from "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."
R. S. You're never too late. Just follow the links.
